Remember me????
I have to be more consistent about posting on my blog..... Workouts are still going. Got an unexpected motivator from a facebook group I was added to. The support of women with same goal is very encouraging. I am starting a couch to 5K program......PRAY!!! We shall see how this goes. I got on the scale today. 10 more pounds down!!! Don't know if it is because I have been sick or still losing weight. My eating has not been the best, but still better and still trying to workout 3 times a week.
I know this post was very random and scattered.....sorry!! Super busy, but I knew if I didn't post I would put off again....

Moment of Transperancy
Been meaning to write this post for a while. Woke up early this morning and finally decided to put my thoughts down.
My last blog post talked about Church Fit and it has been a kick-starter for me. Since the beginning of February I have lost 33 pounds!!! Woo Hoo!!! The more I lose the more it inspires me to workout and eat better. I have my moments where I say screw this it is soooooooooo much easier being fat, but in the long run I know that the weight must come off.
One thing I do struggle with is what the end product will be.....what weight will be my end goal? What will I look like? What if I plateau and become complacent? Will I become to skinny and obsessed with my weight loss? I don't know if I will be able to answer any of these questions, but we shall see where this journey takes me.
Well, this is all I able to put into words for now. Hopefully will be posting here more often :-)

Yeah.....am I slouch
Still alive, weight is where I fail so hence.....not posting on this blog much.
This morning I woke up early and caught a glimpse of the Dr. Oz show and saw the woman who chronicled her 100 day workout journey. I thought that was a great idea. So I thought about how I can use this to motivate me.
My last do to visit was not great. Health was good.....weight not so much. Eating better workout sucks so how can I change this? Well here are some options I thought about :-/
1. Force myself to write in this blog daily like I do my random thoughts? I truly make myself write there rather I feel good or bad
2. The video diary? Not me, but then I think seeing myself on the journey might help?
3. Maybe a picture diary? Daily picture of me? Just not my face (face pics have been a staple since I have gained so much weight) a chronicle of how I look and if there is change
4. Take my mom up on her offer seriously....she has offered to pay off one of my student loans if I have visible weight loss by Christmas......money is great motivator
5. Accountability partner? This hasn't worked in the past just of my schedule and just my issue with people in general
Well....that's all I got for now :-/ we shall see....
Hopefully there will be more post on here often!

2.2 Miles???
What was I thinking???? But I made it!!! Walking/running with a group gives me motivation and it helps push me. If I was walking by myself trust walk would have ended at 1 mile! Will I push myself today? I play kickball with kids tonight, but I'd schedule permits I might can get 1-2 miles in......JESUS!!!!!

Zumba!!
Yesterday was my second time at Zumba, JESUS!!! I survived. But not sure if my arms did :-/ I enjoy the class, it gives me variety in my workout. And considering I have no rhythm it can be quite funny!!! My Zumba instructor is 8 months pregnant! She puts us all to shame.....but she is a great instructor. Each night after Zumba I try to post a picture of me smiling, why? To remember despite the pain I still have to smile. Below is yesterday's pic.
Also.....In my head I was going to try to bake a peach cobbler recipe I had recently found...would so defeat the purpose of working out, but I love to bake and try new recipes. But my body was so tired did not even attempt :-/ Lesson learned.

Over a Year!!!
Yes I am a slacker :-( Blogging has been a challenge for me.....working out even a bigger challenge :-/ But.....after a recent doctor's appointment I have to step my game up. Blood pressure was good, thyroid was good, cholesterol was good, diabetes.....do not have it, but if I continue on the path that I am going I will. Considering both of my grandmothers had it, I really do not want to go down that path.....
So what am I doing about it??? Well.....
So this is the plan.....started this week, so we shall see :-)
So what am I doing about it??? Well.....
- Eating less out (helps with budget too, so it is a win-win)
- Workout plan, switching things up and not getting bored.
- Taking it one day and one meal at a time...
- It is about health not weight.
- Goal is to work out 3-4 times a week, alternating with workout classes, walking, and weights.
So this is the plan.....started this week, so we shall see :-)

Went to the doctor yesterday.....
Went for my annual obgyn (hope I am not over sharing) check up and thank God my doctor is on top of things! She noticed some things my regular doctor had not (that is one reason I am switching regular doctors) and it explains a lot with regard to my weight gain. But.....I still lost 5 pounds since last weigh in. SCORE!!!!
I am excited about the information that she gave me and now I have to put it into action. I did a small work out this morning which is a start.....after beeing sick for a month body has been a little (actually a lot) weak.
A times are a changing :-)

9 Pounds Down!!!!
With my job they have a "hold the stuffing challenge" it is a way to encourage employees to not over eat during the holidays. I weighed in right before Thanksgiving and I weighed in again yesterday. I was so excited for a variety of reasons.
- It was the holidays I pigged out
- I had a wedding over the holidays, did not pig out, but ate well
- I knew I was going vegan so I ate all the things that I would not be able to it.
- I baked and baked and baked

Vegan.....
A while ago I decided to go vegan again. Why? I want to get my body and mind in the habit of eating less processed foods. My goal is to cook the majority of my meals from scratch, not to eat out that much, and to use be more aware of the things that I am putting into my body.
Will I be vegan forever? Not sure....I am doing this in six month increments. In six months I will evaluate my weight and health. I would love to work back in seafood and other items, but I am not sure yet. We shall see. My weaknesses are pizza and shrimp. These are things that I will probably crave, but I know I am not eating in moderation right now.
So we shall see......

Stagnant
Yes I am still here, and yes I have fallen off....big time. I have not gained weight, but workouts and weightloss have not been happening. I have been doing research and rethinking my strategy. Goals are still the same, but taking a different approach.
- I am going completely vegan January 1, 2012. I am going to take this idea 6 months at a time (I am going on a cruise in July and I am being realistic). Goal in going vegan is practicing self discipline and eating less processed foods....PRAY!!!!
- Trying for the half marathon again, but going to do it by myself. I enjoyed training with the group, but still did not have the accountability that I thought.
- Live a healthy life style. Weight will come off....not stressing.

No Half Marathon :-(
Well....the marathon was on Saturday and I did not participate. Reason being....hurt foot. Some of you follow me on twitter and facebook and you already knew, but wanted to let my blog know. I was disappointed, but realized that despite not doing the half marathon I have accomplished alot.
Blogging will pick up now that I am getting adjusted to my new job. Work and personal things have prevented me from blogging....but that has changed. I am back!!!!
Also....Just joined Black Girls Run group in Nashville. So excited!! Nashville's Women' Half Marathon is in September....no goal. You never know, might actually jog (running.....maybe) it!!!
- Longest distance walked 8.4 miles
- Walked 5-7 miles 2-3 times a week for the past couple of months
- In pretty good shape if I say so myself

For me right now it is more of a mental challenge than anything. 10 miles this weekend. My goal is to finish no matter what it takes.....we shall see :-)

More Mental than Physical
If you follow me you know that I am training for a half marathon at the end of April. Training is going well, but what I am realizing each day that it is more mental than anything. I mean when I think about the distance it causes me to doubt that I can finish. I can comfortably complete 5 miles without passing out (first time I did this I was passed out in my bead for the entire weekend after).
Saturday the group is doing 8 miles....PRAY! I am the only walker in the group it seems like so I am usually the last to finish and that does not bother me, but when I get the mental picture of 8 miles it freaks me out. What is giving me motivation right now is that I can do 4 miles so if I make it to the halfway point I just have to walk back to my car.
I have my Ipod charged up, I am taking tomorrow to rest, and I am determined to get 8 miles finished on Saturday!!!!

I am not a failure!!!
This is my goal....to complete the Country Music Half Marathon. Last weekend I attempted to run 6 miles and fell short of 5 miles. Although I am walking more I need to improve my distances. This weekend although I cannot run with the group I am really going to try to push myself this weekend. We shall see. The group is doing 7 miles on Saturday. My goal is to complete 6 miles and then push myself next week in my individual training.
Last week I kept beating myself down because I was not meeting my goals, but I need to really focus on the fact that I am getting out and moving. I have to keep telling myself that I am not a failure....it is a marathon, not a race. I will walk and finish the half marathon in April. I will cross the finish line and mark one more thing of my list.
I just can't let a few setbacks discourage me. I must press on!!!!

Guess What????
I FINALLY stopped being a punk and signed up for half marathon training. I decided on Friday and went to workout with the group on Saturday.....WHOA! All I can say is that I survived. We did 5 miles in the Brentwood area, it was cold, hilly, and windy. But the point is I FINISHED!!!!
Considering they had been training for a month I did not do too bad. There were only a couple of other walkers, but I kept up pace. Although my body was in pain the rest of the day (and still some today) I made it.
This is going to be a challenge for me, but it is a great way to get Operation Death of Fat Girl back on track. I had gained some weight since the accident and the holidays because I was not working out as much and not eating right, but in order for me to finish the half marathon in April I am going to have to do both on a consistent basis.
I am walking with Team Rio which is helping raise funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee an organization that I mentor with. If you would like to make a donation to help support the organization and I would be greatly appreciative :-) You can donate here.
I will update you all on my progress! Please pray!!! My two goals are two finish and not passout!

I am an emotional eater (and and update)
I know I have not posted in a while. With having a car accident, holidays, work, and a lot of personal stress I have really not been motivated. I am working out once or twice a week. My eating is not bad, but not great either....I am going to the doctor today and hopefully he will give me something to help with some of the physical things that have been going on (will explain later).
I came to the realization recently that unless a miracle happens I will not be walking the Music City Half Marathon. I have not given up hope on walking a half marathon while I am 30, but to be ready by April does not look like it is happening. I am not being pessimistic, but being realistic. I think I will be able to run a 5k in the next few months which I am getting excited about.
I also realize that I eat when I am emotional....and lately this has been happening a lot. I try to find healthy foods, but sometimes convenient foods are better. Trying to stop this, but it is a constant struggle. Trying to replace my eating with other things....will see how this goes.
Think I am done for now. Blogging on both sites I am try to do better at. Seems like I blog more when I have a lot going on in my head, we shall see......

I have not disappeared
As you can see I have been avoiding this blog :-( I attempt to write, but avoid because I know I am not doing what I am supposed to be doing. If you follow my other blog you would know I was in a car accident a few weeks ago and since then working out has been very minimal due to neck and leg injuries.
Well because of this I have gained 5 pounds so I am at 295 (went to the doctor recently). Not good at all. I am working more on my cardio twister at home and can tell a difference. I need to get it together if I really want to walk the half marathon in April....I can't lose motivation.
We shall see.

Working Out
I have to get better at posting here. I am still working out and attempting to eat better. One set back has been a severe sinus infection and the weather. I love walking and jogging outside, but the weather is changing and it is making me sick :-(. Plus the other day I guy attempted to set a few businesses in my area (right at the end of my walking route) on fire and he was out and had not been caught....decided not to chance walking that morning. I am now going to have to step up my indoor workouts in the mornings. Here are my options.
This machine can fit in the corner in my bedroom, I can watch tv while I work out and I will have no excuse for not getting up and doing something, because it is right in my room. It should be delivered today and I hope I can put it together correctly. We shall see how this goes.
Oh...weight is going down a little, weighed in yesterday and I was at 288, I need to step it up.
- I have a few exercise DVDs at home, but honestly they do not motivate me.
- My apartment has a workout area, but it is not the best. There is one treadmill that works great, but it is usually taken when I go in :-(
- Could invest again in joining a gym or YMCA, but that is money that I rather not spend right now.
- My company has a free workout area, but that would mean getting up and being ready to go to work by 5 or 6am and workout before work....not a fan of public showers and lockers.
